Edmond Café Offers Free Coffee To Provide Health Screenings for Senior Citizens

Approach Empowers Area Nonprofits: Generosity Changes Lives

(EDMOND, OKLA.) – February, 3, 2017 – Perk Place Café in Edmond is using free coffee to showcase a model for companies to transform the city while achieving business growth – offering free coffee from 7 to 8 a.m. Monday through Saturday – with the opportunity to pay it forward by putting money into the “Generosity Jar” for area nonprofits, like Concordia Life Care Community of Oklahoma City.

“Generosity is contagious,” says owner Jeff Meyer. “We want to show how generosity is the key to transforming the city. The joy it creates and the impact on business is extraordinary.” Since 2014, Perk Place Café at 1649 W. 33rd in Edmond has raised thousands of dollars for area charities.

“Thanks to great partners like Perk Place Café, hundreds of seniors will receive free health screenings through Concordia’s Wellness on Wheels Program, an outreach program which provides mobile wellness clinics to area churches and nonprofits, and to residents residing at low-income senior housing communities across Oklahoma City,” said Paige Mills-Haag, Concordia Life Care Community.

Concordia’s Wellness on Wheels Program launched in April 2013, and has served nearly 1,500 older adults and seniors since program inception. Last year, Concordia’s outreach nursing team hosted over sixty free wellness clinics to area nonprofits and senior housing sites, to provide health screenings to older adults and seniors who may not have access to vital screenings or affordable health care.
