Beacon Award winners recognized during virtual event

OKLAHOMA CITY (JR) – FSB Architects + Engineers, Sandler Training and Junior League of Oklahoma City received the 2020 overall Beacon Awards at The Journal Record’s 13th annual event spotlighting companies and organizations giving back to the community.
The overall winners and other honorees were recognized during Thursday’s Beacon Awards virtual event.
“Now more than ever there is a need to celebrate and honor these companies and organizations for the positive impact they’ve made in Oklahoma,” said Sarah Barrow, advertising director for The Journal Record.
 
First Fidelity Bank is presenting sponsor for the event. The Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits is an event partner.
 
Each of the honorees is featured in the Beacon Awards magazine inserted in the July 10 issue of The Journal Record.
 
Companies were recognized for their contributions to the nonprofit community in the categories of philanthropic impact and charitable influence.
 

Nonprofits serving nonprofits

 
Several nonprofits also received special recognition at the event for the work they do helping other nonprofits. The overall winner in this category was Junior League of Oklahoma City for its partnership with Concordia Life Plan Community. For the last six years, Junior League member volunteers have visited Concordia at least twice a month to provide health-related programming to keep seniors active in mind, body and spirit.
