Long-Term Care Accommodations
Given the level of support required at this stage of care, our residents aren’t placed in apartment-style housing. Instead, we offer private and semi-private suites that are clean, spacious and well-lit.
To create a sense of home, we encourage residents and their families to personalize suites with pictures and accessories. We provide access to numerous community common areas, including beautifully maintained outdoor green spaces.

What’s the Difference Between Long-Term Care and Nursing Care?
Long-term care is aimed at older adults with chronic conditions or disabilities that worsen over time. If recovery isn’t likely, the focus is instead on providing the best quality of life.
In contrast, nursing care is focused on helping sick or injured individuals recover and can be for a short or long period, depending on their needs.
Long-term care typically takes a more holistic approach and includes services that go beyond physical needs. For example, long-term care at Concordia includes a focus on wellness programs, spiritual connections and social activities.

Our care team is comprised of a range of medical and support professionals, including:

Does Medicare Cover Long-Term Care in Oklahoma City?
Medicare typically doesn’t cover costs for long-term care, except for medically-related needs such as skilled nursing care, doctor’s appointments and medications. All other costs, such as room and board, assistance with daily activities and other amenities, won’t be covered by Medicare.

Visitors are very important to residents and a well-planned visit can be rewarding for both of you. Our staff can help you with the best times to plan a visit. If you are bringing children, coach them on what to expect and plan an activity such as working on a photo album, writing letters, playing a game, or eating a meal together. If your loved one is healthy enough, consider planning an activity outside the center as well.
