Concordia Life Care Community is partnering with St. Mark Lutheran Church to provide a free wellness clinic from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Edmond. The wellness clinic is for adults ages 40 and older and is open to the public.
“We are proud to be working with Concordia Life Care Community to provide a wellness clinic free of charge to anyone in the area who may be in need,” St. Mark Lutheran Church pastor Mark Erler said. “We appreciate opportunities to open our doors, and are thankful to Concordia for contributing their expertise and resources to join us in serving the community.”
During the event, Concordia will offer free blood pressure and blood sugar checks, medication consultation, general health education, complimentary healthy snacks and a library of health-related resources.
“Our participation in the wellness clinic is one example of how Concordia strives to meet the needs of others in our area,” Concordia executive director Danny Eischen said. “We believe Wellness on Wheels provides important quality care and supportive services that many individuals need. Through this and other wellness events, we aim to improve health in our community.”
Wellness on Wheels clinics are provided by Concordia nurses and made possible by a grant from the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, Office of National Mission. This is Concordia’s fifth year of involvement with the Wellness on Wheels Program, during which time they have served more than 2,450 participants, including many who lacked access to affordable health care services and vital screenings.
The St. Mark Lutheran church is located at 1501 N. Bryant Ave. in Edmond. No RSVP is required for the event.
